I Corinthians 13:4-7, TLB. "Love is very patient and kind, never jealous or envious, never boastful or proud, never haughty or selfish or rude. Love does not demand its own way. It is not irritable or touchy. It does not hold grudges and will hardly even notice when others do it wrong. It is never glad about injustice, but rejoices whenever truth wins out. If you love someone you will be loyal to him no matter what the cost. You will always believe in him, always expect the best of him, and always stand your ground in defending him."

About Us - Our Mission:
About EOH Our Mission Board Of Directors

Every once in a while, a new voice emerges with the power to change the world. Patrick Valme, activist and social entrepreneur, is such a voice. Patrick Valme inspires and moves those who know him with the passion of his personal experience as a survivor of a horrific crime in a country he loves so much. His dedication to rebuilding the communities, from which this violence tragically took his parents, is an inspiration to us all. His motto “one child at a time” is the drive behind our missions work.

Eyes of Haiti seeks to change the lives of children by bringing a holistic, hands on approach to addressing the unique needs of children in impoverished environments.

We begin working with children through a multiphase process of recovery and rehabilitation. We present them with an opportunity to improve their living standards through community development and participation.

As children go through our educational, self-esteem, leadership and community health programs they will assume leadership positions in their villages and actively participate in the reconstruction of their communities. Eventually they will build civil society, start businesses, and encourage their friends and family to become more active citizens who can help establish lasting peace and stability.

Eyes of Haiti believes that establishing the roots of a functioning, capable society, with respect to human rights and individual freedom lies with the children. As the roots are nurtured and cared for, they form the backbone of a strong well structured society.

Leadership Education, Strength and Stability

Through cultural awareness and skills training and workshops, children can share knowledge of each others experiences, so as grow as a collective body of individuals who take pride in their community.

Our programs will help cultivate their leadership skills though self-esteem projects. Hence, the children will gain the power to actively participate in the reconstruction of their communities.

Our development plan has a three pronged approach:

A)      Politically: As victims of violence, all the people within the community have the right to seek stability and peace.

B)      Economically: Understanding their economic value to family and society through job creation.

C)     Socially: Acquiring skills to fight discrimination and exploitation. To obtain the basic knowledge of primary education, prevention and treatment of prevalent diseases and most importantly community respect and pride.

Who Makes it All Happen
Eyes of Haiti can not provide direct financial and emotional support to children living on the margins of hope without the backing of a global community, including those who are rebuilding their lives in Haiti, dedicated staff, volunteers, generous donors, supporters and friends.

Our staff, advisors, and supporters contribute resources, time and energy to help make a brighter future for the children of Haiti.

With your ongoing support, Eyes of Haiti will continue to address children’s immediate and long-term needs, work to improve their status in Haiti and create a place where children can enjoy the innocence, joy and love of childhood.
